Agnes Christina (Indonesia)

Agnes Christina is a multidisciplinary artist who is interested in the struggle that people face in life and most importantly how they deal with the struggle. Focusing on the rhythm that is created by humans in everyday life, Agnes presents her findings mostly through performances that collaborate with other media such as film and painting. She works with various issues such as identity and home, history, body and feminism, among others. Since few years, she has been researching on Centini, one of most popular Javanese writing on women and sexuality and transformed that into scripts and theater performance.

Her fluid moves between performance, theater, literature and visual arts had brought her to work in both fields; performing in many festivals and theater space such as Kedai Kebun, Salihara and others. While in exhibition scene she was participated in Art Jog in 2019, Pra Biennale Jogja in 2019 and many others.
